Egypt is a country that captures our imagination. It has been home to artists and crafters since 3000BC. I have been fortunate to study Egyptian artisanship within it's borders and at local exhibits. The designs below where inspired by elemental cues from both current Egyptian culture and ancient Egyptian artifacts. My designs below fall into three color stories: Turquoise/Orange, Blue/Gold and Watermelon/Teal.

Venice Inspirations

Venice is an amazing city with artistic delights at every turn. It truly was astonishing to see this city on water and to observe how it functions. Most of my fabric design ideas came from inspiration found at Basilica San Marco and Doge's Palace. My Venice colors were taken from the photos I took. As I worked with these colors they developed into three color stories; blue/gold, terracotta/green and pink/royal. Below you will find groups of designs in each color story. Each group ends with a quilt or two designed with fabrics from it's color story.
